Starting great stories since 1899

Christmas and new year packages

Celebrate the season with us in the Highlands. Cosy rooms, proper festive food, local whisky, and loch-side walks — all wrapped up in Whitebridge warmth.

The ancient Monadhliath Mountains rise eastward. Loch Ness’s monstrous depths lie two miles west. Little wonder the Whitebridge Hotel is steeped in stories. Our roadside haven has rejuvenated travellers since the 19 th century. Today, it’s a place of community warmth, quirky charm and classy hospitality.

THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE

wee stories

fishy stories

Our hotel was a fishing lodge for many years. Its old logbooks hold bold accounts of local angling, like the Reverend who caught 300lb of fish in a Force 10 gale.

A VISIT FROM A VIP

We don’t know why, or with whom, he came. But Winston Churchill’s signature is in one of our old guest books. He was a man of great taste, after all.

A ROWDY CROWD

Once upon a time our hotel was, well, less salubrious. A place where farmers and gamekeepers would have a lock-in and a fall-out. These days it’s a bit fancier – and the friendliest hostelry around.

Our atmospheric bar, full of timber and exotic touches, is a convivial haunt for guests and locals alike. Food-wise, let’s just say we’re a step up from the usual pub grub.

"Amazing place, everything that could be had from a Scottish hotel. The guest lounge, so good. Games for all ages, LPs record player, every book you could want and the game changer — log fire."
